TRANSPORT MUSEUM NUREMBERG

The Nuremberg Transport Museum comprises the DB-Museum (Deutsche Bahn-Museum) and a Museum for communication. The Nuremberg Transport Museum is one of the oldest technical museums in Nürnberg. The DB-Museum became the offical Company Museum of the DB in 2007. It was established 1899 as a railway museum and is because of that the oldest railyway museum in Germany. It shows off the history of railways. The museum has parts of the royal wagon of Ludwig II, a railcart from the 1950s , an original coal wagon from 1829, the oldest steam locomotive of Germany. They also have a replica of the "Adler"-train. The museum is in possession of a big model collection, with 1:10 scale models occupying 1000squaremeters of the museum. A Library, where you can read informative things about trains an railways at, is integrated too. We recommend you to have a look at the Nuremberg Transport Museum.

THE VOLKSFEST The "Nürnberger Volksfest" is an event everyone in Nuremberg knows. It takes place two times a year. One time in spring and the other one in autumn. THE BEAUTIFUL FOUNTAIN Nuremberg's Beautiful Fountain is one of the most popular sights of Nuremberg. It represents the historical aspect of Nuremberg. It is 19m tall and looks like a church spire with gothic details. It isn't quite clear who has built it. Most say it was built by Heinrich Beheim in the period of 1385-1396. Others say it was built by Georg Rupprecht and Fritz Rupprecht in cooperation with Sebald Schonhofer. Fact is that the Beautiful Fountain had to be restored a lot of times. The Beautiful Fountain is very important to the people of Nuremberg. That's why it was protected by a concrete wall in WW2. According to the legend, it gives you luck spinning on a ring at the outer fence. But be careful, you have to spin the black ring for luck. The golden one is only there to trick people.
