THE BEAUTIFUL FOUNTAIN

Nuremberg's Beautiful Fountain is one of the most popular sights of Nuremberg. It represents the historical aspect of Nuremberg. It is 19m tall and looks like a church spire with gothic details. It isn't quite clear who has built it. Most say it was built by Heinrich Beheim in the period of 1385-1396. Others say it was built by Georg Rupprecht and Fritz Rupprecht in cooperation with Sebald Schonhofer. Fact is that the Beautiful Fountain had to be restored a lot of times. The Beautiful Fountain is very important to the people of Nuremberg. That's why it was protected by a concrete wall in WW2. According to the legend, it gives you luck spinning on a ring at the outer fence. But be careful, you have to spin the black ring for luck. The golden one is only there to trick people. That's something only the real Nurembergs know. Go and have a look.
